A Letter From Billy
TIME STOOD STILL - info May 2003

The Time Still Project was inspired by the strange but true facts surrounding mortuary owner, Ray Brent March in Wlaker County Gerogia, who had omproperly disposed of bodies, which were supposed to be cremated. I could only think about these ghost's spirits which must be roaming those woods in a despeerate need of a funeral service to set their souls free. May those souls rest in peace.

--------------------------------------------------------- Information from the WHAT"S A POOR BOY TO DO project Sept. 2000

My son, Owen, provided the inspiration for this album and I would like to dedicate the song "What's A Poor Boy To Do" to him. Even though we've all stood before the mountain of life and wondered how we would make it through another day. Somehow we all manage o push on and bring our own contributions to mankind no matter how small or great. The challenges of life are immense and the rewards are the loves and relationships that pass through each of our lives. Cherish each experience today for tomorrow may never come. Additionally the making of this album is also dedicated to my loving soulmate, Miss Debbie, whose patience and understanding helped make this album a success. She gets the Rawlett Achievement Award for being THE BEST - Sound Tech, Lighting person, Roadie, Critic, Accountant, Photographer, Manager, Cook, Confident, work out partner (when we get our lazy butts to the gym), Sales clerk, Editor, Organizer and of course, Lover. Thank you Debbie!

This past year has been a very trying year deciding whether or not to work on this project or just push the "Can't Get Your Money Back" CD. We decided out of frustration that the "Can't Get Your Money Back" CD only confused people. The country folk, most of which, thought it was a rock album, and the rockers thought it was too country and Raspberry Records in Europe has it listed in their POP genre catalog and all of my close fans who really loved it said I should make another record soon. I personally felt I hadn't really made the type of Hillbilly statement I was trying to make in the first place, so here it is - Billy Rawlett - "What's A Poor Boy To Do". This collection of songs are some of my favorite tunes most of which we do in our live show. I have brought together on this album several of Dallas' finest Folk and Hillbilly pickers, Dan Hodan and Ric Phiffer of the Tornado Brothers and David Mills, as well as renown B3 keyboard player Wayne Tibbet, blues guitar giant Scott "Choo Choo" Folger, Jimmy Dee Wallace played drums, Tom Hoover played bass, and of course Rick Stevens and Bryan LaCombe of Rebel's Secret. David Morgan from Alexandria, La, played the great twin guitars on Country Girl and added some excellent blues riffs on Love Is Blind. The obvious absence of electric guitar was done purposely to bring this recording into perspective and produce a sound more reminiscent of some other period. Although on a few tunes we did get carried away with the Electric guitar despite my intent. I hope you enjoy this CD and spread the word to your friends and log on to my web site and click the BUY button. I have already started working on the next CD project, which will be called "Latent Treasures". Enjoy and happiness to all.
